Crafting and Discovery Materials
Crafting turns spare expedition materials and coins into brews,
Stat Hammers, and
Affinity Flasks. Grix, Orik, and Mia each offer different recipes in Quests → Story.

Finding materials
Complete an expedition and claim its reward to collect discoveries and material copies. Each discovery has its own chance; a run can give several discoveries or none.
The eight regular routes have 64 crafting materials and 8 lore scrolls. Open a route for its drop table, or browse all crafting materials for individual item pages and Tap to examine text.
| Routes |
|---|
| Forest Trail · River Path · Harvest Fields · Mountain Ruins |
| Dark Forest · Volcanic Crater · Celestial Tower · Dragon Lair |
Open your Profile → Discovery Log to inspect discoveries. Finding an item for the first time adds a unique discovery. Later copies add crafting supplies; they do not count as another unique discovery.
Lore scrolls count as discoveries, but are not crafting ingredients. Guild Samples are a separate guild quest resource from walking, not personal expedition materials.
Using spare copies
Crafting always keeps one owned copy of each material. Only copies above that amount can be spent. For example, owning 4
Mushrooms lets you use 3 in a Normal Brew and keep one.
Ingredients are counted as copies, not different item types. You can use several copies of the same material, or mix materials from different routes, as long as every recipe slot meets its rarity requirement. One copy cannot fill two slots.
| Recipe requirement | Materials that qualify |
|---|---|
| Common or better | Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary |
| Rare or better | Rare, Epic, Legendary |
| Epic or better | Epic, Legendary |
Spending spare copies does not remove the unique discovery from your log. Choose ingredients carefully: using a rarer material in a low-rarity slot still spends that copy.
Recipes
The costs below are for one attempt. Open the linked recipe or item page for full effects, outcome chances, and use instructions.
| Recipe | NPC | Coins | Material copies | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal Brew | Grix | 300 | 3 common-or-better | |
| Volatile Brew | Grix | 750 | 2 rare-or-better + 1 epic-or-better | |
| Orik | 1,500 | 2 rare-or-better + 2 epic-or-better | 1 Stat Hammer | |
| Mia | 1,000 | 2 rare-or-better + 2 epic-or-better | 1 Affinity Flask |
An explosion spends the Volatile Brew's coins and ingredients and gives no item. Its outcome chances improve with your unique discovery count; see Brewing.
Unlocking crafting
| NPC | Requirements | First lesson |
|---|---|---|
| Grix | 35 unique discoveries | Accept The Art of Failure, make one paid brewing attempt, then return to claim the lesson reward. An explosion also counts. |
| Orik | Level 40; 45 unique discoveries; First Enchantment completed; a chosen class | Accept A Better Swing, craft a Stat Hammer, then return to finish the quest. |
| Mia | Level 35; 40 unique discoveries; Your First Companion completed | Accept A Flask for Your Pet, craft an Affinity Flask, then return to finish the quest. |
The first craft uses the normal coins and materials. The hammer or flask you make is yours to keep; claiming the lesson does not give a second free copy. After finishing the lesson, return to that NPC for repeat crafting.
Making an item
- Open Quests → Story and speak to the recipe's NPC. Accept the first lesson if you have not completed it.
- Choose the recipe and check the coin cost and ingredient slots.
- Select spare material copies that meet each rarity requirement. Check the quantities before continuing.
- Choose Review, then Spend and craft when the summary is correct.
- Check the result. On a first lesson, return to the NPC to finish the quest.
Crafting needs an internet connection. Brewing also requires one free inventory slot. If supplies have changed, refresh and review the recipe again. If the game says a previous action needs checking, retry that pending action before starting another craft.
Drop chances and extra copies
The first discovery and later spare copies have separate rolls. Drop Rate and
Rare Find Potion can improve eligible discovery rolls. The guild's Discovery Chalice improves repeat material-copy rolls.
Regular solo repeat rolls use the material's base chance before boosts. Current shared co-op uses 48% of that base chance for repeat copies; the party's coin and XP bonus does not raise it. Each route page lists its exact first-find and shared co-op repeat chances.
More drop chance does not guarantee a material, a rarer item, or a better brew result. Brewing outcome chances and material drop chances are different rolls.
Other upgrade items
Enchantment Spellbook adds or rerolls an enchantment on gear. It is not one of the material recipes above.
Stat Hammer can attempt to raise gear quality after you craft or obtain one.
Affinity Flask changes a pet's affinity after you craft or obtain one.
